Helen Alison Lawson

Helen Alison Lawson is a Lecturer in Vocal Studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama). She holds a background in vocal performance, having trained at the Royal College of Music and National Opera Studio in London. Her career includes soloist roles in major opera houses and concert halls such as English National Opera, Royal Albert Hall, and institutions in Germany and Belgium.

Her research focuses on vocal pedagogy, specializing in breathing techniques (CoreSinging certification) and German/American vocal training methodologies. Awards include the Sir James Caird Travelling Scholarship and a Walter Hines Page Scholarship supporting research on American vocal pedagogy. She directs the RCS Classical Singing Summer School, fostering future generations of classical singers.
