Heiner Maier

Heiner Maier is a senior academic and research leader at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (MPIDR) in Rostock, Germany, where he serves as Dean of the International Advanced Studies in Demography. He is actively involved in the International Max Planck Research School for Population, Health and Data Science and the European Doctoral School of Demography, contributing significantly to advanced demographic training.

His research focuses on human longevity, particularly extreme aging and supercentenarians.
