Heidi Kloos is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Cincinnati, serving as A&S Senate President and former Interim Head of the Psychology Department. Her research focuses on systems approaches to children's STEM learning and cognitive development, emphasizing the interplay between theoretical models and empirical findings. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Arizona State University (2001) and a B.A. from Karl-Ulrich University Tuebingen, Germany (1994).
Her work spans grants totaling over $6 million, including NSF-funded projects on STEM pedagogy and child cognition. Notable awards include the 2014 Advisor of the Year and a 2017 MindPlay Award. Kloos teaches courses like Cognitive Development and Research Methods in Human Learning, and her service roles include editorial work for journals like Cognition and Journal of Experimental Child Psychology.
