Heide Castañeda is a Professor of Anthropology at the University of South Florida. Her work bridges medical anthropology and public health, with a focus on migrant health and health policy across the United States, Mexico, and Germany.
Her research interests include medical anthropology, public health, migrant health, health policy, and health care access for immigrant and minority populations. She has explored these themes through long-term ethnographic fieldwork and policy analysis.
Dr. Castañeda has secured research funding from the following organizations:
