Heide Castañeda is an Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida, affiliated with the Department of Political and Social Sciences and the Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology. Her research focuses on Medical Anthropology, Global Health, and the intersections of migration, racialization, and health policy. She leads projects such as the EU Membership Impact on Roma communities in Germany, examining health citizenship and mobility regimes. A recipient of the Fulbright Faculty Research Award, her work bridges decolonial theory and public health advocacy.
