Hege-Beate Fredriksen is a climate researcher affiliated with UiT The Arctic University of Norway, specializing in climate modeling and temperature variability analysis. Her doctoral thesis (2017) investigated spatial and temporal long-range dependence in climate systems. She maintains active research collaborations with institutions including the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and the University of Leeds.
Her research focuses on:
- Climate model evaluation (CMIP5/CMIP6) and radiative forcing mechanisms
- Scaling behavior and long-range persistence in temperature records
- Energy balance models and climate sensitivity quantification
- Carbon budget estimation under future climate scenarios
- ENSO dynamics under global warming
Fredriksen's publications (2015-2024) demonstrate consistent focus on improving climate model parameterizations, particularly regarding radiative feedbacks, scaling regimes in temperature data, and validation of simple climate models. Recent work emphasizes uncertainty quantification in carbon budgets and model calibration techniques.
