Heesoo Oh

Heesoo Oh serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of Orthodontics at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, University of the Pacific. She has been a faculty member since 2005 and directs the Craniofacial Research Instrumentation Laboratory while leading the AAOF Craniofacial Growth Legacy Collection's Curators Group as Steering Committee head.

Her research centers on longitudinal craniofacial growth analysis and orthodontic clinical outcomes, with emphasis on comparative treatment efficacy against untreated subjects. Current work focuses on developing NIH-funded facial growth prediction models for diverse facial types through advanced instrumentation and legacy data analysis. This integrates biometrics with orthodontic intervention studies to establish evidence-based treatment protocols.

As Program Director of the Graduate Orthodontics Program since 2010, she oversees advanced clinical training while maintaining active research leadership. Current funding includes an NIH/NIDCR R-01 grant as co-PI for facial growth prediction development. She serves as diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics (2007) and peer reviewer for major orthodontic journals.

She directs the Craniofacial Research Instrumentation Laboratory (CRIL) and stewards the AAOF Craniofacial Growth Legacy Collection - a critical longitudinal dataset spanning decades of craniofacial development research that supports national and international collaborations in orthodontic science.
