Dr. Hector Viveros Tapia is a Lecturer in the Department of Management at Macquarie Business School, specializing in Human Resource Management (HRM). He is renowned for his student-centered teaching philosophy, which emphasizes inclusivity, empathy, and practical engagement. As a Unit Convenor for MGMT1007 Introduction to Human Resources Management, he designs interactive curricula that blend theory with real-world applications, fostering student success through tailored support systems, such as ‘meet and greet’ consultations and Diversity and Inclusion events. His innovative ‘Where’s Hector?’ scavenger hunt initiative encourages first-year students to explore campus facilities while building peer connections, enhancing both academic and social integration.
He won the 2023 Vice Chancellor’s Learning and Teaching Award (Student Nominated), recognizing his transformative pedagogy. His research spans HRM, student engagement strategies, and CSR in mining industries.
