Hector Chade is the Rondthaler Chair in Economics and Professor in the Department of Economics at Arizona State University (ASU), where he has been since 1997. His expertise lies in Economic Theory, particularly in areas such as Search and Matching, Contract Theory, and Game Theory. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois (1997), an M.S. from the same institution (1992), and a Licenciado en Economía from the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Argentina (1989).
Chade’s research focuses on addressing fundamental questions in economic theory, including mechanisms for efficient resource allocation under uncertainty, strategic interactions in matching markets, and the design of optimal contracts under adverse selection and moral hazard. His notable contributions include analyses of simultaneous search models, the Radner-Stiglitz nonconcavity in information value, and the dynamics of acceptance curses in matching processes. Chade has been recognized with awards such as the Dean's Council of 100 Distinguished Scholar (2004-2007) and the ASU College of Business Dean's Award.
