Hector Antonio Paez is a Professor of Transportation Geography at McMaster University, part of the School of Geography and Earth Sciences. His research focuses on accessibility, transportation equity, and spatial analysis methodologies. He has authored/co-authored 111 papers and co-edited multiple books, including Population Loss: The Role of Transportation and Other Issues.
His expertise includes quantitative methods (e.g., geographically weighted regression) and qualitative approaches like Grounded Theory. Prof. Paez currently supervises two graduate students and serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Geographical Systems. He has received recurring recognition, including multiple JGS Best Paper Awards.
Teaching responsibilities include courses on transport policy, spatial statistics, and discrete choice analysis. Recent work explores child accessibility, urban mobility patterns, and Alzheimer's treatment via plasma exchange. His research often bridges transportation, health, and urban planning disciplines.
