Dr. Hebatalla Elnaggar is a CNRS Researcher at the Institute of Mineralogy, Physics of Materials and Cosmochemistry (IMPMC), a joint research unit (UMR 7590) affiliated with Sorbonne University, CNRS, MNHN, and IRD. She is a permanent member of the Minéralogie et magnétisme de basses dimensionnalités (MIMABADI) research team.
Her research focuses on strongly correlated magnetic systems, particularly transition metal oxides, using advanced X-ray spectroscopy techniques. Her work spans multiple domains including
- Sample preparation (thin film growth)
- Lab characterization (microscopy, diffraction, magnetic and transport measurements)
- Synchrotron-based X-ray spectroscopic measurements
- Theoretical calculations (Density Functional Theory)
Dr. Elnaggar's research aims at developing novel spintronic devices, ultrafast electronics, and systems with topologically protected states for data transfer applications. Her work bridges fundamental physics with practical applications in next-generation electronic devices.
She utilizes state-of-the-art techniques including Dichroic X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy, Dichroic Resonant Inelastic X-ray Spectroscopy, X-ray Photo-emission Spectroscopy, and X-ray Spectroscopy-microscopy at synchrotrons and free electron lasers.
