Heather White serves as a Visiting Fellow at the University of Greenwich within the Faculty of Law, Arts and Social Sciences, leveraging 25 years of international advocacy and research leadership in labour rights. Her current work focuses on sustainability and human rights in global supply chains, collaborating with the Film and Media Center on documentary film and narrative screenplay production.
Her research centers on systemic failures in protecting workers within electronics and apparel supply chains, critically examining social auditing mechanisms and corporate accountability frameworks. This interdisciplinary work bridges legal scholarship, ethical advocacy, and policy reform, influencing international discussions at institutions including the United Nations and European Parliament.
Significant recognition includes:
- The documentary 'COMPLICIT'—co-directed and produced by White—receiving nine international film festival awards and screenings at the House of Lords, UN Human Rights and Business Council, and EU Parliament in 2018.
White's academic activities are anchored in the Business, Human Rights and Environment research group within the School of Law and Criminology, with active collaboration extending to the Film and Media Center for multimedia knowledge dissemination.
