Dr. Heather Oravec is a Research Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering stationed at NASA Glenn Research Center through The University of Akron's College of Engineering and Polymer Science. She holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
Her NASA-collaborative research specializes in advanced aerospace seal technologies for space applications, including low-leakage systems, high-temperature seals, extraterrestrial regolith mechanics, and surface mobility solutions for planetary exploration. Recognized with NASA's 2017 Space Flight Awareness Team Award and ASME's 2016 Propulsion Best Paper.
