David W. Miller is the Jerome C. Hunsaker Professor (Post Tenure) in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at MIT. He currently serves as the Chief Technologist for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s Astronomy and Fundamental Physics Directorate and previously held roles as NASA’s Chief Technologist (2014–2017) and Vice President/Chief Technology Officer at The Aerospace Corporation. He is affiliated with MIT’s Space Systems Lab and is an AIAA Fellow and member of the National Academy of Engineering.

Research Interests: Focuses on space systems engineering, satellite engineering, and spacecraft instrumentation. His work includes developing space-based apertures and leading over a dozen space flight experiments on platforms like the Space Shuttle, Mir, ISS, and free flyers. He contributed to the JWST Product Integrity Team and held advisory roles in the Air Force Scientific Advisory Board.
