Heather Martin

Heather Martin serves as a Continuing Studies Instructor at Emily Carr University of Art + Design while pursuing a practice-based PhD at the Glasgow School of Art's Creative Campus in the Scottish Highlands. As a creative entrepreneur and educator, her work bridges academic research and industry practice through the MONO platform.

Her research critically engages with sustainability, fashion activism, and post-growth economics, examining how design innovation intersects socially equitable practice and alternative business strategy. Through MONO—a deliberately scaled-back initiative—she produces soft products, collaborative projects, large-scale commissions, and reflective content to deconstruct the fashion industry's current paradigm.
