Heather L. Hill is a Professor of English at the University of Detroit Mercy, where she has taught since 2003. She holds leadership experience as former Associate Dean of the College of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences and Director of the Women’s and Gender Studies Program. She is actively involved in university governance, having served as President of the McNichols Faculty Assembly.

Her research explores interdisciplinary themes including gender dynamics in medieval literature, dystopian narratives, and women's leadership. Recent work includes analyses of Chaucer's texts, critical editions of medieval plays, and studies on contemporary gender issues. She is currently authoring a book on the symbolism of spinning women in the Middle Ages, building on her 2007 publication Sacred Players: The Politics of Response in the Middle English Religious Drama.
