Heather Kincaid is a Senior Lecturer in Critical Care at Kingston University, within the Faculty of Health, Science, Social Care and Education, specifically in the Department of Adult Nursing and Allied Health, School of Nursing, Allied and Public Health. She transitioned from a critical care nursing background to academia in September 2021, focusing on innovative educational approaches for critical care nurses.

She employs the Community of Inquiry (CoI) model to enhance social, cognitive, and teaching presences in blended learning environments.
She is particularly interested in curriculum innovation, developing tailored courses that address the unique needs of critical care nurses, including international nurses adapting to UK educational standards. Her work emphasizes creating supportive, collaborative learning communities through digital platforms.
Publications and Conferences:
In 2023, she co-authored multiple presentations focusing on blended learning outcomes in critical care nursing, presented at prestigious venues including the NETworking and Innovation in Healthcare Education Conference, HERE 2023 Conference, and the Intensive Care Society State of the Art Congress. Her collaborative work with colleague Siby Sikhamoni has been nationally recognized.
