Heather Heckman-McKenna is an Instructor of English at the University of Missouri, affiliated with the College of Arts and Science and the Department of English. Her research focuses on eighteenth-century women’s literature, feminist studies, and digital humanities, alongside creative nonfiction writing. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri, an MA from Simons University, and a BFA from Emerson College.

Her research explores subversive narratives, feminist theory, and identity in literature. Current projects include book chapters on Charlotte Smith’s Emmeline, reproductive autonomy in ballads, and digital humanities projects on women’s literature. She serves as Associate Editor of The Eighteenth Century: Theory and Interpretation.
