Heather Gallivan is an Associate Professor of Mathematics Education at the University of Northern Iowa in the College of Humanities, Arts and Sciences, Department of Mathematics. Her office is located in 328 Wright Hall, and she holds office hours during Fall 2025 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., or by appointment.
Her research interests focus on the intersection of culture and race in mathematics teaching and learning. She specializes in preparing prospective teachers to navigate socio-culturally diverse school settings, addressing systemic challenges in educational equity and inclusivity.
