Catherine M. Miller serves as a Professor of Mathematics Education in the Department of Mathematics within the College of Humanities Arts and Sciences at the University of Northern Iowa.
Her research examines foundational aspects of educator development, with primary focus on Mathematics Teacher Education, Pedagogical Content Knowledge, and Teacher Cognition and Beliefs. These interconnected domains investigate how mathematics educators acquire subject-specific teaching methodologies, integrate content mastery with instructional strategies, and develop belief systems that shape classroom practices. Her work addresses critical challenges in teacher preparation and professional growth within STEM education.
