Dr Heather Davies is a Senior Lecturer in Healthcare Management at Swansea University's School of Health and Social Care, Department of Public Health. With 25 years of experience in healthcare education and professional development, her work focuses on healthcare leadership, evidence-based practice, and specialist oncology/palliative care. She holds a doctorate in Nursing Science and has conducted qualitative research on palliative care nurses' responses to patient suffering. Her current interests include coping mechanisms, staff support in cancer care, and communication strategies during cancer diagnosis/treatment.
Teaching includes modules SHQM22 (Dissertation in Healthcare Management) and SHQM43 (Leadership/Management Theory in Healthcare). These modules emphasize critical analysis of business and healthcare management theories applied to public sector challenges. Located at Singleton Campus (Vivian Building, Office 133), she is available for postgraduate supervision.
