Heather Braden is a Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Angelo State University, where she has taught since 2010. Her responsibilities include Physical Therapist Examination, Acute Care Management, Systems Review, Evidence Based Research, and Essentials of Rehabilitation Practice in the DPT curriculum. Previously, she taught Clinical Foundations, Motor Control, Pharmacology, and Cardiopulmonary Management at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

- Bachelor of Science from Angelo State University
Dr. Braden's research centers on rehabilitation outcomes across healthcare settings, interprofessional education, telemedicine, and geriatric motor learning. Board certified as a Geriatric Clinical Specialist (GCS), she has secured external and internal grant funding leading to peer-reviewed publications and international collaborations with Korea University and the University of Leipzig. Her work has been presented at the World Congress of Physical Therapy (WCPT) and North American Society for the Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity (NASPSPA).
With over ten years of clinical experience as a licensed physical therapist, she has worked across acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing, home health, school systems, and oncology settings. As Senior Director of Rehabilitation, she managed interdisciplinary therapy teams in skilled nursing, home health, and outpatient facilities while initiating cancer wellness programs and life enrichment initiatives for long-term care residents. She remains an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) with section memberships in Geriatrics, Oncology, and Health Policy and Management.
