Dr. Susan Motts is an Associate Professor of Physical Therapy Education at Arkansas State University's College of Nursing & Health Professions. She joined the faculty in Spring 2011 and integrates her clinical experience from acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, SNF, outpatient, and home health settings into her academic work.
Education:
- PhD in Biomedical Science (Neuroscience concentration), Kent State University
- MS in Anatomical Sciences and Neurobiology, University of Louisville
- MS in Physical Therapy (Geriatrics concentration), Texas Woman's University
- BHS in Physical Therapy, University of Kentucky
Research Focus: Dr. Motts investigates brainstem circuitry related to auditory systems, attention, and sensory processing, with emphasis on the startle reflex and motor planning. Her work bridges neuroscience and clinical physical therapy applications.
