Dr. Heather Beaird is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics, Environmental Health Sciences, and Epidemiology at Kent State University's College of Public Health. She holds a BS in Biology from Kent State University (1998) and a PhD in Epidemiology from Case Western Reserve University (2005). Her professional roles include teaching introductory epidemiology courses at undergraduate and graduate levels, alongside over a decade of public health practice.
Previously, she served as Epidemiology Chief for Summit County Public Health and Portage County Health Department, focusing on local surveillance systems, community health assessment, and program evaluation. Her research emphasizes applying large administrative datasets to investigate health disparities, particularly in underserved populations.
