معرفی
Dr. Hazel Yücel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at Başkent University. Her research focuses on applied mathematics, acoustics, and biomedical imaging, particularly in the development of mathematical models for thermoacoustic and photoacoustic imaging techniques. She collaborates with Professors Barış Erbaş, Nihal Ege, Julius Kaplunov, and others on interdisciplinary projects involving fluid-structure interaction, thin shell dynamics, and layered media analysis.
Her recent work includes the Multiscale Dynamics of Aerogel and Aerogel Composite Layers (2025) and Dynamics of a thin elastic coating (2025), which explore advanced materials and elastic structures. Earlier publications and projects, such as the 2221 Sabbatical Support Program (2023) and Thermoacoustic Image Reconstruction Based on Layered Tissue Model (2017), highlight her expertise in inverse problems and biomedical applications.
Dr. Yücel has contributed to international journals like Journal of Applied Mechanics and Technical Physics and conferences such as SPIE Medical Imaging. While no specific awards are mentioned, her prolific publication record and collaborations underscore her contributions to applied mathematics and engineering sciences.
