Professor Banu Uzun is a faculty member at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences of Işık University, where she serves as Head of the Mathematics Department. Her academic career spans over two decades, with expertise in Mathematical Analysis, Inverse Problems, and Fractional Calculus. She has taught courses including Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Real Analysis.
- PhD in Mathematics from the University of Leeds (1999)
- MSc in Mathematical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (1995)
- BSc in Mathematical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (1993)
Her research focuses on thermoacoustic imaging, fractional calculus, and shift-invariant operators. Her recent work addresses inverse source problems in multi-layer media, fractional wavelet transforms, and operator equations. She has supervised doctoral theses on thermoacoustic imaging and inverse problems.
Key projects include microwave-induced thermoacoustic imaging for breast cancer diagnosis. She is a member of the European Mathematical Society and Turk Matematik Dernegi. Her publications span journals and proceedings in mathematics, physics, and biomedical engineering.
