Dr. Hazel Tan is a Senior Lecturer at Monash University's School of Curriculum, Teaching, and Inclusive Education. Her research focuses on secondary mathematics education, STEM/STEAM pedagogy, and technology integration. She previously served as a senior mathematics teacher and Head of Mathematics Department in Singapore, as well as an Educational Technology Officer with the Singapore Ministry of Education. Dr. Tan’s methodological expertise includes quantitative and mixed-methods approaches, with notable research on leveraging Facebook for educational recruitment. She has led professional learning initiatives across Southeast Asia and contributed to projects like the Victorian Curriculum Mathematics Professional Learning Program (2023–2024). Active in community engagement, she has delivered keynotes on STEM pedagogies and participated in initiatives like the Clayton Festival (2020). Currently at capacity for PhD supervision, her work aligns with UN SDGs targeting quality education and gender equality.
