Hazel King

Hazel King serves as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Social Work, Education, and Teacher Education at Canterbury Christ Church University, where she has been employed since 2012 (transitioning from a part-time secondment to a permanent position in 2015). Her core responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules with a specialized focus on Primary Mathematics education.

Her research and pedagogical interests center on Primary Education methodologies, particularly Mathematics Education within teacher preparation frameworks and Teacher Training innovations. As Year 1 Lead Tutor for the BA (Hons) Primary Education program and leader of the Mathematics Specialism route, she shapes curriculum development for future primary educators.

Dr. King provides academic guidance to first-year students in the Primary Education program, overseeing their foundational training through structured mentorship and curriculum delivery within the Initial Teacher Education framework.
