Hayley Treloar Padovano is an Associate Professor jointly appointed in the Warren Alpert Medical School (Division of BioMed) and the School of Public Health (Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies) at Brown University. Her work bridges clinical psychology, public health, and addiction science, with expertise in ecological momentary assessment and pharmacotherapy trials.
Education: PhD in Psychological Sciences (University of Missouri, 2014), BS in Psychology (Iowa State University, 2006). Postdoctoral training at Brown’s Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies (2014-2016).
Research focuses on improving screening for chronic liver disease, understanding multi-level health determinants, and developing interventions for substance use disorders. Methodological strengths include laboratory alcohol administration, longitudinal data analysis, and real-time behavioral monitoring.
Over 40 peer-reviewed articles published in journals like Addiction, Psychopharmacology, and Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs, with themes spanning adolescent substance use, pharmacotherapy mechanisms, and minority stress.
Awards include the Early Career Investigator Award (Research Society on Alcoholism, 2021) and Loan Repayment Award (NIAAA, 2014-2017). Serves on diversity committees in both affiliated schools and advises MPH students, clinical residents, and postdocs.
