Hayley O’Malley is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Art History at Rice University, specializing in African American film and literature with a focus on Black women’s cultural production since the 1960s. Her interdisciplinary work bridges feminist thought, political activism, and public humanities through curatorial projects and academic research.

Research Interests:

Her work emphasizes archival recovery and public engagement, including curating the 2023 Sojourner Truth Festival and the Out of the Archive film series.
