Hayley Affronti is a Lecturer in Biology at Vassar College, where she researches cancer biology with focus on pancreatic cancer metabolism. She holds a BS from The College of Saint Rose and PhD from University at Buffalo.
Her laboratory investigates metabolic vulnerabilities in cancer, particularly pancreatic oncology, using biochemical and molecular approaches. Current projects examine therapeutic targeting of metabolic pathways, enzyme regulation in carcinogenesis, and mechanisms of treatment resistance.
Dr. Affronti teaches courses including Cancer Biology (BIOC 356/BIOL 330), Mentored Cancer Research (BIOL 393), Biochemistry (BIOL 272), and Energy Flow in Biological Systems (BIOL 107). She received the prestigious NCI F99/K00 Transition Award for her predoctoral-to-postdoctoral research.
