Prof. Dr. Havva Karagöz serves as the Dean of Mef University Faculty of Law since 2014. She is a faculty member with a distinguished career spanning multiple institutions, including Istanbul University, Galatasaray University, Özyeğin University, and Beykent University. Her academic expertise lies in Roman Law, civil law, and legal philosophy.

Her research focuses on Roman Legal History, Civil Law, and Natural Law, with a particular emphasis on the influence of Roman law on Turkish legal systems. She has explored intersections between Stoic philosophy, justice, and equity in her work.
Prof. Karagöz has received international recognition, including the Comune di Roma Prize from La Sapienza University of Rome and a research grant from the Italian Government. She has held administrative roles in university senates and served on the Managing Committee of the Société International Fernand De Visscher pour l’Histoire des Droits de l’Antiquité (SIHDA) from 2014–2017.
