Hattie Harvey is Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Alaska Anchorage, serving as Program Director for School Psychology and Coordinator of the Graduate Certificate in Children's Mental Health. She leads OSEP-funded personnel preparation initiatives (Project BLENDS & Project i-SPARCC) focused on improving services for children with behavioral and learning needs.

Her research examines interventions for young children with challenging behaviors, executive function development, Indigenous perspectives on social-emotional learning, and culturally responsive assessment practices. Work emphasizes participatory methodologies and community-engaged approaches, particularly with Alaska Native populations. Recent studies focus on dual language learners in special education, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder support systems, and equity in early childhood play.
Publications reflect strong focus on culturally responsive practices (50%) and early intervention efficacy (50%), with increasing attention to Indigenous methodologies since 2021. Teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Children's Mental Health and school psychology.
