Hasnaoui El Fahem is a Lecturer in the Department of Modern Languages at Carleton University. He holds a Master's in Applied Linguistics and Discourse Studies (2021) and a Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language (CTESL) from Carleton, as well as a Master of Education in Society, Culture, and Literacy (2013) from the University of Ottawa. His research focuses on second language acquisition theories, adaptation of teachers/learners to new environments, digital technologies in language education, and equity in education. He also explores critical and post-structural methodologies in ESL teaching, citizenship education, and second language policy development.
He currently teaches ARAB1110 (Arabic language courses) at Carleton and provides legal/medical/cultural interpretation services through Alllangauges Ltd. His academic background includes a Diploma in Social Service Work (2010) and a BA in English Literature (2006).
