Harvey Michaels

Harvey Michaels is a Lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Management, specializing in Energy Management Innovation. He leads the MIT ESI Cities and Climate Change Program as Principal Investigator, and directs the Clean Heat Systems Dynamics Project. His research focuses on energy systems integration, community climate solutions, and urban sustainability strategies.

Education: Holds degrees in Civil Engineering and City Planning from MIT. Professional Experience: Former CEO of Aclara Software and Xenergy, board member of Conservation Services Group, and advisor to Siemens Digital Grid. Currently advises Massachusetts state government, Boston, Cambridge, and serves on NREL's Energy Systems Technical Review Panel.

Engagement: Coaches MIT's Better Buildings Case Competition Team, participates in campus energy planning, and advises off-grid solar firm KPay and community climate platform MassEnergize. His work bridges academia, industry, and public policy to advance energy efficiency and climate resilience.
