Haruka Higa is a Lecturer in the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures at Hamilton College. Born and raised in Okinawa, Japan, she earned her M.A. in Linguistics from Syracuse University and B.A. in English Language and Literature from Kanagawa University.
- Specializes in language teaching pedagogy, bilingualism, and second language acquisition.
- Focuses on speech development, teacher education, and preservation of the Okinawan language.
- Previously taught Japanese as a teaching assistant at Syracuse University and at University of Maryland Global Campus Asia (formerly University of Maryland University College Asia).
