Harry Salisbury is a CHASE-funded Researcher in the Art History Department at the University of Sussex, affiliated with the School of Media, Arts and Humanities. His doctoral research examines ecological art and environmentalism within 1960s/70s American counterculture, focusing on how artists and activists reimagined educational and institutional practices to create experimental ecological spaces. He also explores intersections between art, science, technology, and philosophy in 20th/21st century contexts.

His research interests span Art Theory and Criticism, Performance and Installation Art, Environmental Philosophy, Social Philosophy, and Visual Cultures. He is funded by the Learning Environments: Education, Community Activism, and the Posthuman in Early Ecological Art grant from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), active from February 2022 to October 2025.
His work engages with poststructuralist and postcolonial frameworks to analyze how art collaborates with ecological and pedagogical movements. No scientific awards are listed, but his research focuses on emerging interdisciplinary fields in environmental humanities.
