Dr. Harry Roberts is a Lecturer in Sport & Exercise Science at the University of Surrey's School of Biosciences, within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. He holds a PhD in Exercise Physiology from Bangor University and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). His research focuses on leveraging exercise to improve health outcomes in aging populations and clinical populations, particularly cancer patients and individuals with long-term conditions. He has contributed to studies like the GAP-4 INTERVAL trial investigating high-intensity interval training in metastatic prostate cancer patients.
Teaching responsibilities include leading the 'Anatomy and Kinesiology' module, which explores human movement and musculoskeletal systems. He also maintains professional affiliations with CIMSPA and the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES). His applied work includes experience in exercise referral programs and cardiac rehabilitation.
Research highlights include examining biomarkers of joint metabolism and the impact of exercise on cancer survivorship. Collaborations involve interdisciplinary teams addressing clinical exercise interventions and ultra-endurance athlete health.
