University of California, Mercedمعرفی
Harry E. Martz is the Director of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), where he leads research in Non-Destructive Characterization (NDC). His work focuses on advancing imaging technologies, including nanometer-resolution imaging, material property analysis, and quantitative measurements using ultrasound, x-rays, proton energy loss, and neutron CT. He has spearheaded the development of NDC facilities at LLNL, supporting applications in national security, weapons systems, fusion targets, and counter-terrorism efforts for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Dr. Martz’s research emphasizes creating custom equipment and algorithms for 2D/3D imaging across micro-to-macro scales. His contributions include textbook authorship (e.g., X-ray Imaging: Fundamentals, Industrial Techniques and Applications), 350+ technical papers, and leadership roles in National Academy of Sciences committees. His NDC innovations have enabled LLNL to provide critical technical services for over three decades.
While no specific articles are listed here, his work bridges fundamental physics and applied security, with ongoing efforts in countering weapons of mass destruction and enhancing homeland protection through advanced imaging solutions.
