Professor Harriet Dunbar-Morris is the Pro Vice-Chancellor Academic and Provost at the University of Buckingham since 2023. She holds a Professorship in Higher Education. Previously, she served as Dean of Learning and Teaching and Professor of Student Experience at the University of Portsmouth. Her career spans over 20 years in higher education, with roles at UCAS, the 1994 Group, and universities including Bath, Bradford, and Oxford.
Education: BSc, MSc, DEA, and PhD in Sciences du Langage (University of Toulouse II, France), complemented by studies in French and Linguistics at the University of Sussex.
Research focuses on enhancing student learning experiences, authentic leadership in education, and curriculum wellbeing integration. Notable projects include QAA-funded pandemic-era teaching quality studies, evasys-funded belonging surveys, and AdvanceHE wellbeing-in-curriculum initiatives. She leads The Spinnaker Group for learning and teaching leaders and sits on boards of the Buckingham Press and BIMM University’s Enhancement Committee.
Awards recognize her transformative contributions to teaching excellence and leadership. Projects emphasize cross-institutional collaboration to address sector-wide challenges in education quality and student wellbeing.
