Dr. Harriet Deacon is a Visiting Research Fellow at the Ferguson Centre for African and Asian Studies, The Open University, UK. Her work focuses on critical heritage studies, particularly exploring heritage’s role in African contexts, its political implications, and the interplay between heritage, governance, and globalization. She actively participates in interdisciplinary discussions on intangible cultural heritage, the politics of heritage management, and the socio-cultural dynamics of heritage policies.
