Harouna Maiga

Harouna Maiga, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Agriculture and Natural Resources Department at the University of Minnesota Crookston. He teaches courses such as Feeds and Feeding, Livestock Facilities and Environmental Systems, and Dairy Production.

• M.S. in Animal Science from University of Maine
• Ph.D. in Animal Science from South Dakota State University

His research focuses on Dairy Production Management, Energy and Protein Metabolism in Lactating Dairy Cows, and Livestock Housing & Environmental Systems. He also emphasizes the Scholarship of Teaching and the endocrine function of the mammary gland.

Harouna Maiga has received numerous accolades, including the Horace T. Morse Award (2021-2022), the University of Minnesota System-wide Distinguished Professor award (2010), and multiple teaching honors from NACTA and the University of Minnesota Extension Service.
