معرفی
Harley I. Kornblum is a Professor-in-Residence at the David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California, Los Angeles, with dual appointments in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences and the Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology. His research primarily investigates glioblastoma pathogenesis, neural stem cell biology, and tumor microenvironment interactions.
Research interests span:
- Molecular mechanisms of glioblastoma progression and therapeutic resistance
- Metabolic reprogramming in IDH-mutant gliomas
- Radiation-induced cellular plasticity and tumor recurrence
- Neural progenitor cell signaling in brain tumors
- Vascular interactions in the glioma microenvironment
His NIH-funded projects include studies on neural progenitor genes (R01NS052563), stem cell-based gene-environment interactions in autism (R21HD084204), and the UCLA IDDRC (P50HD103557).
Research outputs demonstrate:
- Recurring focus on glioblastoma stem cell plasticity and metabolic adaptation
- Integration of neuroimaging techniques for tumor characterization
- Therapeutic exploration of epigenetic regulators (HDACs, FTO) and metabolic pathways
- Mechanistic studies on radiation/drug resistance in glioma models
Laboratory investigations emphasize translational neuro-oncology, utilizing proteomic, metabolomic, and single-cell transcriptomic approaches to identify therapeutic vulnerabilities in malignant brain tumors.
