Dr Haris Psarras is an Associate Professor of Law and Associate Dean (International) at the University of Southampton's Faculty of Social Sciences. He holds degrees from the University of Athens (LLB, LLM), University of Oxford (MJur), and University of Edinburgh (PhD). His research focuses on general jurisprudence, tort theory, private law philosophy, and law-humanities intersections. Current projects explore authority relations in private law, civil litigation, and emotions in legal guidance, alongside a collaborative interdisciplinary project with David Gurnham. He has taught modules such as Philosophical Perspectives on the Common Law and Theories of Law and Justice. External roles include journal reviewing (e.g., Oxford Journal of Legal Studies, Law & Social Inquiry) and speaking engagements like the 2017 Ontario Legal Philosophy Conference. Previously, he served as Richard Fellingham Lecturer/Fellow at St Catharine's College, Cambridge, and Teaching Fellow at Edinburgh Law School. He currently leads internationalization efforts at Southampton Law School and supervises PhD students like Mabel Alice Newton.
