Dr. Haraldur Karlsson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geosciences at Texas Tech University. He specializes in Stable Isotope Geochemistry with over 16 years of experience. His research focuses on paleoclimatic history using carbonates from soils (caliche), geochemistry of zeolites and hydrous minerals, Martian hydrosphere/atmosphere origins, meteorites, and igneous rock petrogenesis with a focus on Iceland.
Education: Ph.D. in Geosciences from the University of Chicago (1988).
Teaching: Courses include GEOL 1303 (Physical Geology) and GEOL 4320 (Optical Mineralogy and Crystallography).
