Harald Wiltsche is a Professor and Head of Department at the Division for Philosophy and Applied Ethics (FTE) within the Department of Culture and Society (IKOS) at Linköping University, Sweden. He is an active researcher and academic leader specializing in the intersection of philosophy of science, phenomenology, and epistemology.
Wiltsche's research spans philosophy of science, epistemology, phenomenology, philosophy of physics, and the history of philosophy in the 19th and 20th centuries. His methodological approach bridges analytic and continental philosophical traditions, with particular focus on how embodied, socially and historically situated subjects gain knowledge through thought experiments, models, and scientific instruments. He has made significant contributions to phenomenological approaches to quantum mechanics and the relationship between scientific theories and societal challenges.
His recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on the intersection of phenomenology and physics, especially quantum mechanics, as well as methodological questions in determining scientific consensus. Wiltsche has organized international conferences on 'Phenomenological Perspectives on Physics' and is actively involved in collaborative research projects examining scientific consensus and methodology.
