Prof. Harald Hendrix is a Full Professor of Italian Studies at Utrecht University's Faculty of Humanities, leading the Department of Languages, Literature and Communication. He chairs the Italian Studies program and oversees the Renaissance Studies RMA track. His academic roles include former directorships of the Netherlands Research School for Literary Studies (2002–2006), Modern Languages Department (2007–2012), and Royal Netherlands Institute in Rome (2014–2019). Hendrix specializes in Early Modern Literature, Renaissance Studies, and cultural memory, with notable works on Italian cultural history and writers' legacies. He currently serves on the UUCEMS steering committee and chairs the Dutch National Monuments Organization (Monumentenwacht Nederland).

He actively contributes to interdisciplinary projects like the Europe in the Early Modern Period minor program.
