Harald Fredheim is a Lecturer in Museum Studies at the Department of Archaeology, University of York. He holds roles as Director of Studies for the MA Museum Studies program and Publicity Officer. His research focuses on how pasts are used in the present, emphasizing museums, heritage, and archaeology with a strong emphasis on public participation and engagement. He explores themes such as participatory practices, heritage values, sustainability, and the interplay between heritage and contemporary societal changes.
Education background includes a PhD in Archaeology and a Research Associate role in Sociology. His projects include the BOCCAHD initiative exploring creative heritage documentation, the Museum of TAT collaboration transforming museum objects, and the participatory practices study with Mahidol University. He has supervised multiple PhD candidates in heritage-related topics.
