معرفی
Dr Harald Fox is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physics at Lancaster University, Faculty of Science and Technology. He is a member of the ATLAS collaboration since 2004 and contributed to the 2012 discovery of the 125 GeV Higgs boson candidate. He plays leadership roles as Examination Officer and Chair of the departmental Outreach Committee, and supervises PhD students in experimental particle physics.
- PhD Supervision: ATLAS Higgs to tau tau, X to HH to bbtautau, Silicon pixel detectors
His research focuses on:
- Higgs boson decay modes (especially tau lepton final states)
- CP properties of the Higgs boson
- Di-Higgs production as portal to new physics
- Radiation-hard silicon detectors for ATLAS upgrades
- Muon tomography applications
Recent publications highlight his work on jet physics, displaced vertices, and precision measurements in 13 TeV proton collisions. He also contributes to detector simulation and software development for the ATLAS experiment.
Teaching responsibilities include:
- Lecturer for Electric & Magnetic Fields (PHYS103)
- IT Skills (PHYS131)
- Experimental Particle Physics Lab (PHYS256)
- Course Manager for the PHYS100 series
