Haoues Seniguer is a Professor of Political Science at Sciences Po Lyon, holding an HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches). He specializes in Islamism, the relationship between Islam and politics in France, and political violence in Muslim-majority contexts. His research focuses on Moroccan and Arab political dynamics, the French Islamic field, and the interplay of religion and public space.
- Current roles: HDR holder, member of the Scientific Council of the Institut du Monde Arabe, and board member of Sciences Po Lyon.
- Education: PhD in Political Science from Sciences Po Lyon (2012), Master's in Political Sociology, and degrees in Islamic philosophy.
Research interests include Islamist movements, secularism, political radicalization, and the sociology of religion. His recent work addresses the authoritarian aspects of French secularism and the politicization of Islam.
He has supervised doctoral research and contributed to over 30 publications, including works on the Moroccan Justice and Development Party and Islamist ideologies. His academic engagements span international conferences, editorial roles in journals like Confluences Méditerranée, and expert contributions to governmental bodies like the Ministry of the Interior’s Scientific Council.
